A 76-year-old female with T2 rectal adenocarcinoma who underwent dual-layer spectral CT and HR-MRI. VMI 40–60 keV in the arterial phase (a–c) and venous phase (d,e) demonstrate that the tumor has grown into the muscularis propria and has not yet broken through the serosal layer. The VMI 40 keV of venous phase (d) provides the same capability of stage evaluation as MRI (g: axial T2WI; H: Gd-DPTA enhanced T1WI; i: DWI at b = 1000 s/mmm2)
