Images showed that a 58-year-old man had clear cell carcinoma of the left kidney with a diameter of 23.9 mm (A, B). The CT value of the lesion in the corticomedullary phase image (A) was similar to that of normal renal cortical enhancement. The lesion was not significant in the corticomedullary phase but could be clearly displayed on 60-keV nephrographic phase VMIs (virtual mono-energetic images) (B). Images showed that a 47-year-old man had clear cell carcinoma of the right kidney with a size of 41.4 mm × 35.0 mm (C, D). The lesion visibility was superior on corticomedullary phase images (C) than on 60 keV VMIs (D)
