Eggshell calcifications. A small peripheral lamellar calcification (white arrowhead) of an enlarged lymphatic node, in a patient with silicosis; however, these calcifications, which reproduce the appearance of eggshells, are a non-specific sign of silicosis, since they may be encountered in various diseases, such as advanced sarcoidosis, pneumoconiosis, scleroderma, amyloidosis, lymphoma after radiotherapy, blastomycosis, and histoplasmosis
