There is no invasion or extension into the middle ear, as the cochlear promontory remains intact (white arrows). Axial (b) and coronal (c) T2-weighted FSE MR images demonstrate a well-defined, predominantly T2-hyperintense, expansile lesion centered in the right jugular foramen (white arrows). Characteristic “salt and pepper” appearance is present, with punctate regions of hyperintensity representing the “salt,” while small flow voids represent the “pepper.” No extension into the middle ear is seen
