Surface 3D reconstructions of the spine in a 16-year-old girl with idiopathic thoracolumbar scoliosis before and after surgery. There is a major right thoracic curve (apical vertebral T9) and a minor left lumbar curve before surgery (a). Significant curve correction is seen after surgery (b). Manual adjustment of the 3D model is more difficult after surgery, due to the presence of metal rods, hooks and screws. [Total DAP = 1,868 mGy·cm2]
