Normal alignment of the spine as seen on mid-sagittal CT: anterior vertebral line (AVL, red)—connecting the anterior cortices of the vertebrae; posterior vertebral line (PVL, pink)—connecting the posterior cortices of the vertebrae; spinolaminar line (SLL, orange)—connecting the base of the spinous processes at the spinolaminar junction; interspinous line (ISS, blue)—connecting the tips of the spinous processes. All of these lines should be gently curved, smooth and continuous
