a A 1.5-month-old girl with low grade fever and reluctance to move her right shoulder. Conventional imaging shows a lucent lesion with possible cortical disruption dorsal in the head of the humerus and periostal reaction in the proximal third of the humerus. b Ultrasound study revealed hyperechoic fluid in the shoulder joint, as seen in septic arthritis. c Coronal T1 STIR series, although with motion artefact, showed high signal around the humeral head and high signal in the bone marrow of the proximal third of the shaft. The final diagnosis was septic arthritis in combination with osteomyelitis of the proximal humerus
