There was no metabolic uptake in mediastinal lymph nodes. (c) A follow-up CT image 6 months later reveals the increasing size of the nodule with micronodular infiltration (black arrow). The patient still denied any symptoms and signs. The sputum smear and culture was negative for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The specimen of percutaneous transthoracic lung biopsy turned to be chronic granulomatous inflammation with necrosis, consistent with active tuberculosis disease
