Thanatophoric dysplasia in a foetus at 22 weeks gestation, following termination of pregnancy. The frontal projection of the skeletal survey (a), acquired 2 days after delivery, demonstrates shortened long bones and curved femora with a trident appearance to the acetabulae. Post-mortem ultrasound images in sagittal plane of the left humerus (b) and left femur (c) reveal irregular metaphyses (solid arrows) and curved long bones. On ultrasound, it is also possible to visualise the unossified epiphyses (dotted arrows)
