Omental infarction. Axial contrast-enhanced CT scan of a patient who presented with acute right upper quadrant pain shows an inhomogeneous fatty mass (large arrow) in the greater omentum, indicative of omental infarction. Note the mild wall thickening (arrow) of the adjacent colonic wall, which is clearly disproportionate relative to the fat stranding.
