A 49-year-old male who sustained a stab wound to the epigastrium. The CT identified the presence of a pericardial fluid collection (approximate Hounsfield attenuation value of 40) and fat stranding within the epicardial fat. Intra-operatively this patient was confirmed to have a pericardial laceration and haemopericardium
